Grounded Kitchen has been doing things properly since 2017 — Korean-inspired food made with real ingredients, built around bold flavour and the belief that eating well shouldn't mean eating boring. No shortcuts. No compromise on quality. Just honest food that tastes exactly like it should.

We've been watching Grounded Kitchen for a while. A brand that started in Leicester and is now in locations across the UK, built on the kind of food that earns loyal customers rather than buying them. When the conversation started about bringing Kaoba into their restaurants, it wasn't a difficult one.

Two Ingredients. Zero Waste. Now on the Menu.

Kaoba is a sparkling soda made from cacaofruit — the part of the cacao pod the chocolate industry throws away. Every year, millions of tonnes of this naturally sweet, tropical fruit is discarded in the process of making chocolate. We take it, press it, and can it. 45% cacaofruit juice. 55% sparkling water. Nothing else.

The taste is light and tropical — pear, lychee, citrus — with a clean finish that works perfectly alongside bold, flavour-forward food. We didn't set out to make a "food-pairing drink." We just made something honest and delicious, and it turns out that honest and delicious pairs well with everything.

Including Korean rice bowls.

Kaoba was built around the belief that a drink should have nothing to hide — two ingredients, a traceable origin story and a waste-reduction mission that starts at the cacao farm.
